Simon has worked with children and families for over 40 years in a number of Local Authority and Health settings.

In his independent play therapy practice he is commissioned directly by families and a range of agencies to offer therapeutic work to children and young people.

• His direct work is effective and creative, tailored to the needs of each child.
• He works in partnership with parents to support and improve family communications about difficulties the child or young person may have so enabling them to overcome their issues and continue to thrive.

His experience has included employment in an adolescent mental health unit, teenage therapeutic community, family centre and a child and adolescent clinic as well as time working alongside children’s social work teams for Local Authorities. This work has included assessing and offering therapy to families where children have complex emotional and behavioural issues including young people with learning difficulties.

He has delivered training and workshops on various aspects of working with children and their families to social work teams, counsellors, teachers, foster carers and adopters and has lectured or given workshops at organisations in the UK and internationally.

Simon has published academic papers in professional journals and is a member of the British Association of Play Therapists. Furthermore he is registered with the Professional Standards Authority as a Play Therapist.

He is based near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

Simon offers a range of therapeutic services tailored to the needs of individual children, young people and their families. Fees start at £65 per hour for families who self-fund.
